Here are the pickling cucumbers we purchased at our Farmer's Market this weekend.
(Mixed with grape tomatoes which I don't think were home grown. Lame.)
Here is the finished product. Well, almost finished; they need to sit and ferment for a couple weeks before they are really yummy.
This was so fast and easy. I'm excited to start canning more than just pickles some day.
Here is the recipe(ish) that I followed. I had a little over one pound of cucumbers and fit all but one little guy into this quart Mason jar. I used my own spices (lots of minced garlic & dill fronds) and cut back the sugar a tid bit. Also, I used the boil method of sanitizing and sealing the jar. I'll let you know how they taste once they are ready. :)
